70 Yrs Ago Today – 28 May 1942 in Auschwitz – on this Memorial Day

“54 female prisoners sent from the prison in Tarnow by the Sipo and SD for the Krakow District receive Nos. 7479-7532.”

Rena had been in camp for 9 weeks. The temperature is 26-12 centigrade and there is a light breeze. Hard to imagine that there was ever nice weather in Auschwitz, but there was.

“Jewish prisoner Isaak Singer (No. 30100) is shot ‘while escaping’” (Czech 172).
