Though I did not know Rena or her family, I felt as if in someway I did after reading her incredible story. She was simply one of the strongest and kindist women I have ever read about. I just can not even imagine what she and Danka went through yet they come out alive and together. I love her quote in the book where she is asked why she is not filled with andger and hate. Her reply was something like, for me to be angry and filled with hate, is to let Hitler win, What a powerful statement. I recommend this book to everyone, Just wish I had the opportunity to meet these wonderful women. Their families should be proud.
Thank you, Lottie. We are very proud of her and the heritage of love that she passed down from Mama to us, to all generations to come. hdm
